REMOTE-CONTROL TECHNOLOGY

FIMET’s advanced cordless control treatment units deliver immediate, responsive power with real-time performance management—ensuring consistent output, reduced vibration, and faster, more precise procedures. Hands-free control of multiple chair and unit functions enhances workflow efficiency, improves precision, and supports infection control. Designed with fewer wear-prone mechanical components, the system minimizes maintenance needs and reduces the risk of unexpected downtime. The result is reliable, high-performance equipment that supports productive clinical days and provides long-term operational value for healthcare facilities.

WorkSafe

Control cords on the floor can pose a significant tripping hazard in dental clinics, leading to workplace injuries and potential legal liabilities. To address the tripping hazard caused by hazardous control cords, WorkSafe recommendations generally focus on both eliminating or minimizing the hazard and implementing controls to ensure safety. Where possible, switch to cordless or battery-operated equipment to eliminate cords entirely.

OIL-FREE

DENTAL CHAIRS

No Risk of Spills or Leaks

A cleaner environment for you, your staff, and your patients.

Fimet chairs are free from hydraulic oils/liquids which can be considered more environmentally friendly. There’s no risk of fluid spills and they typically have less impact on disposal concerns. A liquid-free system reduces the risk of contamination from leaking fluids, which could compromise the cleanliness and safety of the dental office. Overall, Fimet liquid-free dental chairs offer a combination of cost-savings, efficiency, and environmental benefits, making them a more attractive option for today’s modern dental practices.

⚠️ Important:

Oil-liquid hydraulic dental chairs can develop leaks over time, leading to unpleasant odors, slippery floors, and increased maintenance needs. In enclosed clinical spaces, oil fumes may cause discomfort for patients and staff, especially those sensitive to odors or with breathing concerns. Spills also require careful cleanup to maintain hygiene and safety standards. For these reasons, many practices are moving toward cleaner, low-maintenance alternatives that improve air quality, reliability, and overall patient experience.

Electrical Safety

Fimet low voltage electrical infrastructure is considered a safer dental treatment unit alternative to high voltage systems, particularly when moisture contamination is considered. Low voltage systems reduce the chance of serious electrical hazards in such conditions. Electrical codes often have less stringent requirements for low-voltage installations, making them easier to set up and maintain.

Ergonomics

The Hidden Strain Beneath the Chair

For years, dentists have mastered precision in the smallest of spaces — yet one of the greatest sources of daily strain often lies underfoot. Traditional corded floor controls, tethered to the treatment unit, silently dictate how a clinician moves. Every shift, every stretch, every repositioning is met with resistance from tangled cords or limited range. Over time, that constant need to adjust — to accommodate the equipment rather than the body — adds up.

Back tension. Hip rotation. Shoulder strain. What begins as a subtle discomfort can evolve into chronic pain and fatigue. Many professionals find themselves unconsciously compensating, twisting and leaning just to maintain control — all while focusing on the patient’s comfort above their own.

Fimet’s design philosophy eliminates that barrier. With modern, wireless, and freely positioned foot controls, movement becomes fluid again. No cords to pull, no anchors to trip over. Every shift in position is natural and ergonomic — supporting balanced posture and continuous focus.

When Every Angle Adapts to You

Most operator discomfort starts in places you don’t notice—subtle posture shifts, awkward angles, and repetitive reaching. Our multi-adjustable dental chair uncovers these hidden strains helping eliminate them with intelligent positioning. The knee-break design, extendable thin ergonomically designed backrest, and multi-adjustable headrest work together to create precise alignment for patients of all shapes and sizes. In addition, the Trendelenburg tilt and wide 45–95 cm height range help clinicians maintain their healthiest posture. Smooth, quiet, cordless controls allow effortless fine-tuning throughout procedures. When every angle adapts to you, strain truly has nowhere left to hide.

The result is more than convenience; it’s health preservation. By removing the hidden physical limitations of traditional systems, Fimet empowers dental professionals to work with precision and comfort — all day, every day.

Greater Peace of Mind

Under Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, dental equipment must meet high standards for safety, hygiene, and accessibility. If items such as dental chairs or treatment units are installed with exposed control cords on the floor—creating a tripping hazard—or are arranged in a way that impedes clinical workflow, this may constitute a significant issue under the ACL. In such cases, the buyer may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund, provided the issue relates to the product itself or the manner of its installation. However, if the problem arises due to the purchaser’s own planning or layout decisions, ACL protections may not apply. Even so, the dental practice could still face WHS compliance issues and potential insurance risks if an incident occurs. Suppliers, installers, and designers share responsibility for ensuring that equipment and clinical environments are safe and comply with all relevant standards and guidelines. Where issues fall within their scope of work, they may be obligated to assist in resolving them.

Disclaimer: The information provided is general in nature and does not constitute legal advice. Whether a product or installation constitutes a major failure under the Australian Consumer Law depends on the specific circumstances.

Built-in Recharging Capability:

The ability to plug in the unit immediately if the battery is low eliminates procedural downtime.

Backup Functionality:
This built-in flexibility allows Fimet remote control treatment units to act more like a hybrid (cordless, when possible, wired when necessary), improving reliability and operational readiness.

Simplified Servicing:
Fewer mechanical components typically mean easier troubleshooting, faster repairs, and potentially lower long-term service costs.

Conclusion
Fimet’s design choices and emergency plug-in capability directly addresses common cordless concerns like power reliability and infrastructure complexity. These features make their cordless treatment units not only safer and more hygienic but also more robust and user-friendly for dental professionals.

Transitioning from Hanging Hose to Whip-Arm Systems

Switching from a hanging hose system to a whip-arm (Continental) delivery system may take some getting used to at first — particularly in terms of handpiece positioning and reach. However, most users find that the benefits quickly outweigh the learning curve. Improved ergonomics, reduced fatigue, and better hygiene make it a transition that’s well worth the adjustment. It’s also important to consider safety: hanging hoses can pose a tripping hazard for both staff and patients, especially in busy operatories. Loose or extended hoses can dangle or trail near the floor, increasing the risk of accidental trips or entanglement and compromising hygiene, hazards that are virtually eliminated with whip-arm systems which keep handpieces suspended and controlled above the patient. Some clinicians may have previously tried whip-arm systems on units where the design wasn’t fully refined — and didn’t find the experience ideal. In these cases, it’s well worth trying a system where the whip-arm design has been properly perfected. The difference in comfort, control, safety, and workflow efficiency can be significant when the system is well engineered.
