Planning a New Fit-out or Upgrading your Clinic?

At Empire Dental Devices, we are committed to helping dental clinics create safer, more efficient work environments. Our products and solutions are thoughtfully designed to streamline workflows, reduce risk and uphold the highest standards of patient comfort and care.

Fimet’s precision-engineered treatment units are thoughtfully designed to create an open, efficient clinical environment, allowing smooth, comfortable movement for both dental professionals and patients. Compliant with the latest Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines, these advanced units feature cordless controls and strategically positioned instruments—keeping equipment clear of walkways to ensure a safe and accessible workspace. Ergonomically arranged instrument hoses and wireless functionality maintain unobstructed pathways, supporting safe, fluid movement even in smaller operatories. To meet the highest hygiene and infection control standards, Fimet units include an automatic purge system for instrument hoses, along with touch-free controls for key chair and unit functions including micromotor speed settings. Smooth, rounded surfaces allow for fast, thorough disinfection between patients—minimizing turnaround times while upholding stringent hygiene protocols. With a focus on ergonomic efficiency and safety, Fimet units help streamline clinical workflows and support a clean, organized, and clutter-free working environment. Further enhancing flexibility, Fimet’s innovative ambidextrous conversion system allows seamless reconfiguration to suit various clinical setups—without sacrificing space or efficiency.

Dr. Nick France

“The FIMET whip arm dental unit can be easily positioned to the assistant’s side. I can still talk to the patient about their treatment while the assistant cleans up and the patients are oblivious to it. Patient entry and exit to the chair is clear and equipment obstruction free. I can’t really imagine how much difference that has made over the years in time and ease.”

DRILL POWER

Technology Breakthrough

Precision You Can Rely On

Reliable high-speed handpiece performance is critical for efficient, high-quality dental care, making it a key factor when selecting treatment units. The power and torque of the handpiece depend entirely on the unit’s ability to deliver a precise, consistent flow of essential air and water to the cutting instrument. Many traditional systems typically rely on numerous moving metal and rubber components within their control mechanisms to manage these vital services. Over time, these components can wear out or degrade, causing system failure or leaks that lead to fluctuations in handpiece performance. This phenomenon is widespread and is one of the most disruptive and costly maintenance challenges in dental units.
Fimet solves this problem with a precision-engineered control block designed with no moving parts. Made from durable, non-metallic, and corrosion-resistant materials, it delivers stable, virtually leak-free operation—ensuring dependable handpiece performance day after day. Thanks to its innovative engineering and long-lasting durability, the F1 high-tech handpiece delivery system control block is backed by an industry-leading 5-year parts warranty, making it a trusted choice for dental professionals around the world.

Reliable. Efficient. Cost-Effective.

Fimet’s innovative system isn’t just about better technology—it makes sound business sense. With fewer breakdowns, less maintenance, and improved efficiency, your practice can operate more smoothly and profitably.

“more for less”

Relaxed

Stress-Free Visit

A visit to the dentist can make some patients feel anxious, that’s why our treatment rooms are thoughtfully designed to ease nerves and create a welcoming, calm environment from the very start. FIMET whip-arm treatment units play a big role in this experience. With its extraordinary positioning flexibility, we can adapt the unit to suit each patient’s individual comfort and clinical needs, all while keeping instruments like drills discreetly out of direct patient view until they’re needed. This small but important detail helps reduce patient anxiety and creates a more relaxed, stress-free visit.

WHS

Control cords on the floor can pose a significant tripping hazard in dental clinics, leading to workplace injuries and potential legal liabilities. To address the tripping hazard caused by hazardous control cords, WorkSafe recommendations generally focus on both eliminating or minimizing the hazard and implementing controls to ensure safety. Where possible, switch to cordless or battery-operated equipment to eliminate cords entirely.

Greater Hygiene

Control cords on the floor can be harder to clean effectively, especially if they are in frequent contact with surfaces that might become contaminated and can be a challenge to keep sanitized.

Fewer Breakdowns – Lower Running Expenses

Control cords are prone to wear and tear, including fraying, cracking, or damage from constant movement. This can result in costly replacements and service disruptions, potentially affecting patient care.

Better Ergonomics

Corded controls can be awkward to use from certain positions or angles, affecting the ergonomics of the dental professionals. This can lead to discomfort and even long-term musculoskeletal issues due to awkward body positioning when trying to adjust equipment. For comfort, safety, and efficiency in your workflow, a cordless foot control can make a noticeable difference, it’s an ideal choice for high-volume or technology-forward dental practices.

Due to these factors, dental units are moving towards cordless controls to improve efficiency, reduce clutter, enhance safety, hygiene, workflow and ergonomics in the dental practice.

Transitioning from Hanging Hose to Whip-Arm Systems

Switching from a hanging hose system to a whip-arm (Continental) delivery system may take some getting used to at first — particularly in terms of handpiece positioning and reach. However, most users find that the benefits quickly outweigh the learning curve. Improved ergonomics, reduced fatigue, and better hygiene make it a transition that’s well worth the adjustment. It’s also important to consider safety: hanging hoses can pose a tripping hazard for both staff and patients, especially in busy operatories. Loose or extended hoses can dangle or trail near the floor, increasing the risk of accidental trips or entanglement and compromising hygiene, hazards that are virtually eliminated with whip-arm systems which keep handpieces suspended and controlled above the patient. Some clinicians may have previously tried whip-arm systems on units where the design wasn’t fully refined — and didn’t find the experience ideal. In these cases, it’s well worth trying a system where the whip-arm design has been properly perfected. The difference in comfort, control, safety, and workflow efficiency can be significant when the system is well engineered.

Environmentally Friendly

Fimet chairs are free from hydraulic oils/liquids which can be considered more environmentally friendly. There’s no risk of fluid spills and they typically have less impact on disposal concerns. A liquid-free system reduces the risk of contamination from leaking fluids, which could compromise the cleanliness and safety of the dental office. Overall, Fimet liquid-free dental chairs offer a combination of cost-saving, efficiency, and environmental benefits, making them a more attractive option for today’s modern dental practices.

Electrical Safety

Fimet low voltage electrical infrastructure is considered a safer dental treatment unit alternative to high voltage systems, particularly when moisture contamination is considered. Low voltage systems reduce the chance of serious electrical hazards in such conditions. Electrical codes often have less stringent requirements for low-voltage installations, making them easier to set up and maintain.
